We had another wonderful workday this past Saturday! A huge thank you to everyone who came out to work and make a difference. Once again, it was heartwarming to witness our community rallying together with enthusiasm and dedication to tackle various landscaping projects, bringing us closer to our goal of enhancing the beauty of our beloved spaces. ✨
On the slope below the Sellers building, we took down four large Bradford Pears and a Crepe Myrtle. A big thank you goes out to KC Kurtz, Jason Powers, Joe Peele, and Debora Perotti for their hard work and impressive chainsaw skills! 💪
On the slope to the right of the stage, another dedicated team laid cardboard and spread mulch around the large fig tree, while also clearing brush from the woods and burning it. A special shoutout goes to Marc Smith for his expertise in removing a dead Leyland Cypress, and to Lorraine McNamara, Sue Elden, Jim Aaron, Jo Anna Walker, Judith Brooks, and RJ Dobs for their hard work and invaluable contributions. 💪
And last but certainly not least, a heartfelt thank you to Harry Phillips, a true leader and visionary whose humble and tireless commitment drives our community's efforts forward. Thanks to him, our community and spaces shine brighter each day. 💜
Although there's still more work to be done, we've made significant progress! Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and community spirit. In Saxapahaw, it's always beautiful to see how we show up for each other and for the place we call home.
If you're interested in joining the core team who will meet more frequently and take on additional responsibilities, please contact Marc Smith (marcsmith2000@gmail.com) or Harry Phillips (phillips.harry1@gmail.com)
