Friends —
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Community Workday on November 16th. It was a huge success.
Our next Community Workday is scheduled for Saturday, December 14, from 3 to 5 pm. We will continue our good work in the center of the village near the Sellers Building area and on the slope leading up to Sax Patch, the community garden.
What to bring: pruning saws, pruning shears, loppers, shovels, garden rakes, hedge trimmers, weed eaters (preferably with a blade attachment), chainsaws, work gloves, snacks and plenty of water
Description: Our tasks for this workday will include:
Taking down and cutting up dead tree in Saturdays in Sax parking lot
Digging, dividing, and transplanting Iris clumps
Leveling dead Chinese Privet stumps
Turning over soil and transplanting native grasses in the narrow area next to the post office
Cutting back Chinese Privet on the slope
Weed eating the area stretching from the slope steps to the edge of the Saturdays in Sax parking lot
Taking down and cutting up two large trees on the slope
Pruning the ancient Fig
If you’ve never come before, don’t let that stop you. All skill levels and abilities are welcome – truly, there is something for everyone.
We hope to see you Saturday, Dec. 14 (and moving forward on the second Saturday of most months).
All the Best!
The Sax Forward Team
