Flood Recovery Update: Help Needed Friday, July 11
Saxapahaw, NC
We’ve made major progress over the last three days, and it’s thanks to YOU.
With your help, we’ve:
Mucked and gutted Saxapahaw United Methodist Church and Saxapahaw Village Kids Preschool
Continued cleanup at Haw River Canoe & Kayak
Dropped off supplies at nearby neighborhoods, and made contact with multiple residents in need
Received and redistributed six pallets of goods from United Christian Alliance to impacted communities in Saxapahaw, Mebane, Carrboro, and Chapel Hill
This work is powerful, and ongoing.
What We Need – Friday, July 11
35 volunteers are needed between 9AM–5PM
Check-in & orientation: Cup 22 (1711 Saxapahaw-Bethlehem Church Rd)
Parking: Please park at Hawbridge Upper School
Wear:
Boots (required)
Long sleeves & pants
Recommended: Gloves, TYVEK suit, headlamp, respirator, protective eyewear (we will provide PPE if needed)
Friday Supply Needs
We’re still looking for the following items, please bring to Cup 22/Haw River Ballroom if you’re able:
Free Meals for Volunteers
Thanks to Matt from Marco Patriots, the grill tent is fully stocked and serving meals on-site outside of Haw River Canoe and Kayak:
Friday + Saturday
If you’re available to help support the grill station or assist with delivery, we’re looking for 1–2 volunteers.
