Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference in our beloved Saxapahaw? Join us for a day of community, camaraderie, and meaningful work as we come together for ourΒ Volunteer Day at the Sellers Building &Β the slope (up from the Saturdays in Sax stage)Β on Saturday, February 24th! 3:00-6:00 PM.Β
Β Work Projects from 3:00 PM-5:00 PM:
Tree work by the big steps
Cutting and stacking brush
Cleaning and sweeping the big steps
Raking on either resideΒ of the steps
Burning brush gathered in the glen
Cleaning and sweeping steps in the glen
Clearing the area by the fallen Willow Oak
Removing invasive plants in the glen (Multiflora Rose, Chinese Privet, English Ivy)
Cutting and stacking dead Leyland Cypress in the glen
Β Tools Needed:
Chainsaws (ideally 3 or 4)
Leaf rakes
Heavy garden rakes
Lopping shears
Pruning saws
PruningΒ shears
Brooms
Β Chili and S'mores 5:00 PM-6:00 PM
After our productive work session, we'll gather around the fire for a cozy meal of chili and s'mores. We'll have all the fixings ready for a delicious evening together. Feel free to bring along any fresh bread or sides you'd like to share!
We're also calling upon our talented community members!Β If you're musically inclined, we'd love to have you join us for an informal jam session. Let's add some tunes to our day of hard work and celebration.Β
