HIKES, CRITTER SAMPLING, CANOE & KAYAK DEMONSTRATIONS
RIVER SOCIAL & INTERNATIONAL PADDLING FILM FESTIVAL
We'll be celebrating the Haw all day with hikes, paddling demonstrations, and more, with a River Social in the evening to connect river lovers throughout our paddling community! And of course, the films themselves, which come from all around the world and showcase the power of nature and adventure in bringing humans beings together. Check out the schedule below!
Wildflower Hike (1.5 miles) – 10:00 till 11:45 a.m. Meet at the bottom of the outdoor amphitheater in Saxapahaw - Free
Celebratory Hike (4.0 miles) – 1:00 till 3:00 p.m. Meet outside of the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw – Free
Aquatic Critter Sampling & Identification – 1:30 till 3:30 p.m. Meet at signage in the Saxapahaw Island parking lot directing you toward sampling station – Free
Hike on the Mountains to Sea Trail (2.0 miles) – 3:30 till 4:30 p.m. Meet in the Saxapahaw Island parking lot - Free
Canoe, Kayak, Stand-up Paddleboard & Tubing Demonstrations – 4:00 till 5:00 p.m. Meet at the bottom of the outdoor amphitheater in Saxapahaw - Free
River Social & Exhibits in the Haw River Ballroom – 5:30 till 7:00 p.m. Non-vegetarian & Vegetarian meal prepared by the Saxapahaw General Store. Beer & non-alcoholic drinks provided by the Haw River Ballroom - Food & Drink for Purchase.
20th Annual Paddling Film Festival in the Haw River Ballroom – 7:00 till 10:00 p.m. $18 online (http://www.tinyurl.com/HRCKFilmFestival) or $22 at the door.
